What is my EGCC Library username and password?
How do I access the Library's databases from Off-Campus?
Please Note: For instructions on accessing O'Reilly eBooks, please see this FAQ: https://egcc.libanswers.com/faq/298870
Answer
Depending on how and where you access the Library's online resources you may be asked to login and verify that you are affiliated with EGCC.
To access the library's resources go to the library homepage at https://egcc.edu/library/.
On this page you may either begin a search in the Gateway Search Box or choose another online library resource listed in our A-Z database list, featured links, or our research guides.
Once you select a resource you may be asked to enter your username and password. Our Library proxy will offer you two methods for signing in.
Method 1: The first method uses your EGCC email account. This will be the same username and password that is used to login to your Student Gateway Portal and your classes in Canvas. Enter your EGCC email address and your password. (*Exception* If you have already signed into the EGCC Portal, Email, or Canvas, you may not be asked to sign in again.)
If you cannot remember what your password is, you can click on Forgot my password and reset it but be aware if you do so, it will be reset for all of your EGCC credentials including your Gateway Portal and classes in Canvas.
For additional assistance with your EGCC username and password, please reach our to our IT Helpdesk at: https://help.egcc.edu/.
Method 2: The second method for signing in uses your Library Barcode. EGCC Alumni will use this method.
- Select "Login with your library barcode"
- Enter your last name and library barcode into the form that opens.
If you do not know your Library Barcode, please see this FAQ: https://egcc.libanswers.com/faq/335119 or contact the library for assistance.
