How do I access articles, e-books, etc in the library?

How do I access articles and/or e-books for topics assigned in my class?

Answer

To search EGCC and OhioLINK databases and find full-text articles and e-books, go the Library's webpage at https://egcc.edu/library/ and enter your search terms in the Gateway Search box. To get results that you can access online, limit your search to Full Text by clicking the box. Hit Search.

Your username and password to get into the library will be the same as the ones you use to get into your student portal, your classes or your email. If you need to reset that, you can click Forgot Password and reset it yourself or you can go to the IT help desk and they can help. This will reset your passwords for everything.

Limiters will allow the results to be reduced to the type of resources you are specifically looking for. For Magazines, Academic Journals, News and EBooks, the first limiter that should be chosen is Full Text (if you have not already). Once that occurs, select the Source Type. This will allow you to focus on one specific type source like Academic Journal. Other limiters can be used as well such as Publication Date and Subject and those will focus your results even more.
